I've loved to read ever since I was young. I remember going to the local library and checking out stacks of books to read in a few days. I especially like series books since they are like one big story that you have to unfold by reading many books. I have finished many series, but I do have my favorites. I think that the Harry Potter series is amazing.
I own the complete set of 7 enchanting books, and I don't usually buy books too often since I always fulfill all my reading needs from the library. From the Sorcerer's Stone to the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling's popular books are never a disappointment. I enjoy reading them so much that I have read each book at least 3 or 4 times, and many of them I have read more than that. I guess I like the fantasy, adventure, detail, and creativity in the series. And of course I like the characters.
Recently, I finished reading the Percy Jackson series. They were an easier read but still great. I was introduced to the Lightning Thief by my brother, who thought it was great also. After that, I was hooked and had to finish the whole series. I enjoyed reading about Percy and his life, and I especially liked how Greek mythology was incorporated into the story. Also the series had a good ending, which is very important to me. When I was reading the Underland Chronicles, I was completely disappointed by the ending. That ruined the experience for me, even though the rest of the series had been quite good.
Another series my brother told me to read was the Hunger Games. I didn't think I would like it, but I was wrong. Now I'm eagerly waiting for the last book in the trilogy to be published in the summer. This summer I will again be volunteering at the local library and helping with the children's and teen's summer reading programs. I'll be sure to get lots of books from there!!!!
